How to fix small generator carburetor? ?

This one got to me. I totally know what you mean. I have three brothers who are engineers so i had pick up a thing or two from their mansplantions sometimes.
So the carburetor of a generator is the most expensive part of it and it can be frustrating to think you have to throw it away. Its faulty due to the new addition of ethanol into the fuel now in circulation. Ethanol happens to be pure alcohol and so it attracts moisture which forms mould around the carburetor and fuel tank.
I'm sure if you open your fuel tank, you will notice its rusted in the inside. Now its the rust thats causing the carburetor to act out due to clogging which isn't allowing the fuel to circulate properly. But don't be scared a few easy steps should get it back into shape and working in no time.
1. Use your spark plug spanner and remove the plug so to avoid a backfire then turn off the fuel tank.
2. Drain the fuel into a container then remove the screw that attached ghe carburetor bowl to the carburetor snd drain the bowl into another container, then check the fuel condition. Watch out for rust and corrosion.
3. Check if the material in the bowl is sticky, if it is, spray it with the carburetor cleaner but if its just wet, wipe it dry thoroughly.
4. Now, the passage where the fuel flows to the combustion chamber is calles the main jet passage. To inspect this part, use a flat head screwdriver or a table knife to unscrew it and be sure to catch it because its small and pretty important.
5. If its blocked, that's fine, just spray the cleaner in it and use a wire or piece of broom to clear the hole out and be careful not to widen the hole.
6. Take a little time and remove any particles that could come lose and clog the jet by spraying some cleaner on the carburetor components and wipe any excess.
7. There is whats called an idle jet found at the top of the carburetor, sometimes its screwed in and sometimes its just pressed down with a plastic seal. This might need cleaning. All you need to do is pass the same wire or broom stick through to remove the particles.
8. The work is almost done as its time to carefully reassemble by placing the main jet back into the carburetor with a screwdriver. Make sure its not too tight.
9. Check the gasket which is either flat or an O-ring that seals the carburetor bowl to the carburetor body and make sure it is in the right position. Tighten the screw and washer that hold the carburetor bowl to the carburetor body and make sure its not too tight.
10. Finally, clean the work space of any fuels properly, put the spark plug back and turn the fuel tank back on. That should do the trick. Enjoy your party.
I hope this was helpful.
