quarkchain an abruptive project
According to the white paper of the project and its team, we may tell it is a high caliber project
quarkchain or alternatively you may say, an abruptive innovation for the blockchain technology.
Quarkchain is a ginormous project, as on its plan you can find great objectives would be achieved through out the project.
so let me explain why it could be the best project for this year:
1- decentralized system:
Of course as it is a blockchain.
2- super speedy scalable blockcahain:
The project team promises to achieve 1 million transactions per second.
So what do you say when you know that Bitcoin blockchain delivers 7 transactions per second while ethereum is 15 transactions per second?
The speed of quarkchain depends on sharding.
so what is the meaning of sharding , to simplify, it is letting more groups of people divide the work between them, where each group takes part of that work, so the work is accomplished faster than 1 group does the whole job.
To get deeper in the meaning of the bitcoin transaction process, if we have 100 transactions, they would be done with one group only (the miners).
For quarkchain, if we have 10 groups, so the 100 transactions will be divided by the 10 groups, so that gives 10 times faster transaction. I hope you got what I mean.
In fact, sharding is not something new in the internet technology but the difficulty is to achieve that in decentralized network. For example, ethereum team is a great team but they couldn’t achieve sharding till now (they are working on it till the moment) because the team is careful about trying sharding in a running ether bolckchain as the repercussion could be unendurable in case of mistakes. Whereas quarkchain is not launched yet and it has the room to be tested.
3- Security
Although adopting sharding technology, the project still keeps the security of the blockchain, so this innovated technology gathers between fast transaction and secure network.
We can explain that security depends on the structure of the bockchain as it consists of 2 main components, the first component is groups of sharding (minor) blockchains and the second component is the root blockchain , I called it the nucleus bockchain.
And the security is running as follow; the shard blockchain processes a subset of transactions then the root one confirms the block header for any sharding blockchain.
4- Rewarding (proof of work) mining with weak hash power computers:
as we said quarkchain consistes of 2 main components, the shardings (minor) bockchains and one root bockchain.
The root chain possesses 50% of the total hash power of the network and that gives the security to the network, while the other 50% is distributed on all sharding chains.
But how can I mine with low hash power computer?
The answer is if you can validate and confirm the transactions in both root and minor blockchain, so you are awarded and you are a super full node. But a computer with weak hash power may not be able to solve the puzzle for root and minor blockchain and in this case you need to collaborate with other weak computers to act as a cluster without the need to buy expensive computers and this group of computers acts as a super full node that is awarded by the network.
5- Easy deal with your account through a smart wallet:
Let us define first the difference between in-shard and cross-shard transactions
In-shard transaction: is the transaction inside the minor blockchain itself and it takes seconds to validate the subset transaction, and it is easy as the traditional blockchain transaction like bitcoin.
Cross-shard transaction: is the transaction between different minor blockchains, and it is difficult and consider a challenge for the developers and they said that it can be done by converting the tokens by an adapter then doing the transaction to the other blockchain.
Although adopting the sharding technology which requires at least one account for each sharding, the developers promise that one account would be enough to control the whole thing.
And there will be a smart wallet that can coordinate between several transactions whatever they are in-shard or cross-shard.
So the smart wallet would deal as follow:
1- Primary account (which is in the sharding blockchain itself)
2- Secondary account (which contains all addresses from all other shardings)
3- The transactions will be done automatically (optionally by user) from secondary and primary account to accommodate all types of transactions and smart contracts (we will talk about them later) from different blockchains without bothering the user.
6- Supporting smart contracts:
The developers tell that the smart contracts will be supported via ethereum virtual machine
So that gives a shiny view for quarkchain project.
7- On-chain and off-chain transaction is supported by quarkchain:
That gives more strength for the project as there are some applications require such off-chain transactions and the nature of quarkchain structure makes it easy for such action, so quarkchain also covers this point to extend its ability.
8- Mobile Dapp (decentralized application):
As per developers, they say the infrastructure of quarkchain is capable to handle the mobile applications. And they aim to let it easy to deal with android programming. That gives insight for the future of the quarkchain as we know how big number is the mobile users around the world.
9- Artificial intelligent (AI) and huge data storage:
Quarkchain can use artificial intelligent technology, also the amount of data increases within the network as long the quarkchain grows more and more, and that gives an aspect on how will be the future of quarkchain as a supportive infrastructure for the technology.
10- Serious roadmap:
The project started since the fourth quarter of 2017 and it has mile stones through 2018 from testnet for wallet and smart contract.
11- Super stars team:
The development team members are really markable and have extended experiences in their field and worked in reputable places like google and facebook, and all of them got degrees as master and PhD.
also the operation team & advisors are awesome and have a solid experience in their major.
So quarkchain has an exceptional team gives strong sings that this project could be ginormous in the future.
