The media are purposefully ignoring this subject, hoping it slips under the radar.
Steemit should certainly not ignore it. Imagine your internet provider demanding that every image uploaded to Steemit passes a preliminary check first, and, if Steemit's compliance doesn't meet certain censorship standards, it would be blocked by your provider.
This is what we're facing. And this is why the media are silent about it. They want their monopoly back!
Memes are great because they can hit a subject from multiple angles in a simple image and text.
There is no AI that can handle figuring out the text, the image relevance and the message in order to address memes.
Hence, ban memes.
