when the Steel Mills were being shut down in the 1980's here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we were told that the decision was made way before that to not keep the U.S. mills up to date with state of the art technology and that the bulk of steel production was being moved to countries where the unions did not exist, because the unions were going on strike too often here in the U.S. Now we have huge grassy parks 30 years later where all of the huge steels mils used to exist.
