Puzzle Time #1

I thought I'd try something different from fractals and microscope videos.
Here's a word puzzle... a crossword of sorts.
The squares aren't numbered but there are some letters provided as hints.
Here are the clues...

Rotate
Let loose
Tell on
Flower in waiting
Active
United
Aquatic grass
