Major PUBG has been announced with ... $ 2,000,000 in the prize pool!
Although the PUBG Global Invitational is not the first major eSports tournament of this game, none of them could boast of such a great rank. And also a cash pot of $ 2,000,000.
PUBG Corp. announced the Global Invitational tournament, also known as "Major", which includes a huge $ 2,000,000 cash pool. The event will be organized on 25-29 July in Berlin and 20 teams from around the world will take part.
This is one of the largest historically cash pools for a single tournament not financed jointly with the community (as in DOTA 2 International). Even the ELEAGUE or WESG games involving pools of over one million dollars were broken up for a few weeks of matches. For example, the CS: GO tournaments organized by Valve comprise a maximum of $ 1,000,000. It seems that Brendan Greene and the company want to enter the esport with panache, even if their game - at least for now - collects controversial opinions as to whether it should be an esport at all.
Before the start of the tournament there will be regional qualifications for America, Asia and of course Europe. We do not know the specific dates so far, but the details should appear soon.
