Monsters in our society
The terms "sociopath" or "psychopath" often bring to mind images of sadistically violent individuals, stories like Ted Bundy or the fictional character of Dr. Hannibal, Lecter in the book and the movie "The silence of the Lambs ". But the characteristic features that define the themes truly cover a much broader spectrum of individuals than the best way to come to imagine.
What is a Psychopath? You can not understand psychopaths in terms of backsliding or antisocial development. They are simply morally depraved individuals who represent the "monsters" in our society. They are unstoppable and impossible to treat predators in whom violence is planned, determined and lacking in emotions. This violence continues until it reaches a peak around 50 years, and then decreases.
Psychopaths tend to be violent, cruel and even sinister. Lacking moral, his actions lack remorse, because his brain has an injury in the area responsible for fear or trial: the amygdala. They are usually murderers who commit crimes in cold blood and do not repent, nor do they try. They tend to stand out for seeking control and being impulsive, posing a predatory instinct and being the same attackers, and not reacting to an attack as normal.
The primary psychopaths did not respond to punishment, tension or disapproval. They seem to be able to inhibit their antisocial impulses almost all the time, not because of consciousness, because that satisfies their purpose at that moment. There is no life project, it seems to have disabilities for any kind of genuine emotion.
Secondary psychopaths are risky, but they are individuals more prone to react to stressful situations, warriors and prone to guilt. They are driven strongly by a desire to escape or to avoid pain, but they are also unable to resist temptation. Both the primary and secondary psychopaths are subdivided into:
The uncontrolled psychopaths, those who seem to get angry or go mad more easily and more often than other subtypes. Usually, they are men with incredibly strong sexual impulses. It also seems to be accompanied by very strong cravings, as in drug addiction, kleptomania, pedophilia, any kind of illegal or illegal indulgence.
Charismatic psychopaths are charming and attractive liars. In general, they are endowed with one or another talent, and use it to their advantage to manipulate others. They are generally buyers, have an almost demonic ability to persuade and others to abandon everything they own, even their lives.
Sociopaths are pathological liars, but not so dangerous. On the other hand, he will suffer a mental illness as a result of specific brain injuries and a determined upbringing, since as a child grows there is a greater tendency to sociopathy. Normally sociopaths have intriguing and deceptive behaviors, a regret of their outward appearance of honesty and sincerity. They are liars and manipulators, because they lack the moral capacity to judge the situation, but not because they have no ethical relationship, as they do with psychopaths. Your disease should be a combination of a brain injury component and another environmental component (parenting).
The reality is that, although they share certain traits, psychopathy and sociopathy are very different, they have different brain circuits. The psychopaths without fear, but the sociopaths do; psychopaths do not know what is right or wrong, but sociopaths do. The types of disorder can end up ruining the lives around them and destroying relationships, since both share the characteristic that this is not important.
Psychopaths and sociopaths, both similar and very common in our society. Although these individuals are unable to genuinely feel any kind of human emotion, they are very skilled at faking them, so that they seem genuine, so they can easily deceive us into believing that we do care, when in fact It is not like this; the issue is how we could recognize them, since their physical appearance is normal, although one of the common features of psychopaths is that they are pedantic, arrogant and believe themselves superior to others, how could we differentiate a psychopath from a person that is only self-centered? However, it is true that one of the most distinctive features of psychopaths is that they acquire anti-social behavior over time, but ... How to recognize them before they commit an atrocity to give us an account of who they really are? Have I been living with one and I have not noticed? Are there psychopaths that have a good interaction with society?
To conclude, we can say that both sociopaths and psychopaths are incapable of feeling love, fear, compassion, empathy, remorse and joy. They are different from the majority of the population and do not feel deficient because of that. On the contrary, they consider that their personalities are superior to the rest, whom they consider foolish and boring. They try to hide it but they have a sense of exaggerated grandiosity. This refusal to see the terrible problem they have is what makes them intractable with any type of therapy. They feel perfect. When they are forced to treat themselves, they usually use therapy to learn new and efficient techniques of psychological manipulation. There is no hope at the moment. ARE INCURABLE.
