How do people think?

Have you ever met someone and you just seemed to click? Your jokes were perfectly in sync, you both liked similar things, and when you finally departed you thought, 'I like the way he thinks'.
We all think differently even those of us that seem very close. But our thinking can be in sync in many areas. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was constructed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers, it groups people into 16 categories for their personalities.
Understanding these can help you get an understanding for what's going through people's minds. Some examples of comparisons between extroverts and introverts are as follows:
*Extraverted are action-oriented, while introverted are thought-oriented.
*Extraverted seek breadth of knowledge and influence, while introverted seek depth of knowledge and influence.
*Extraverted often prefer more frequent interaction, while introverted prefer more substantial interaction.
*Extraverted recharge and get their energy from spending time with people, while introverted recharge and get their energy from spending time alone.

Understanding this simple concept can help you adapt in conversation when dealing with these 2 differing personalities.
Studying the 16 Myers-Briggs personality types will help you in conversation, build your empathy, and possibly make you new friends.
Whenever conversing with someone ask yourself 'what are they looking to get out of this conversation, the pleasure of conversing (light conversation), or deeper subject matter? Do they want to do most of the talking (then ask questions) or do that want to listen (say something interesting).
