HOW TO RULE THE CROWD: THE LAW OF 5%

Do you know what autosync is? This phenomenon was first observed in the ancient Egypt. The essence is - if in some generality 5% percent perform a certain action at the same time - the rest begins to repeat it. (The theory can also be called DOTU - A fairly general theory of management).

If 5% of horses are frightened in a peacefully grazing herd, and they will run, then the rest of the herd will run after them! 

If even 5% of the fireflies accidentally synchronously flare up, then there will be a flash of a whole meadow :)

This feature characterizes people's behavior as well.

 Recently, English scientists put an experiment: people were invited in a large hall, and they were given a task - "move as you want." And some were given a clearly defined task of how to move and when. Thus it was experimentally confirmed that 5% of people moving for a specific purpose can make the whole group move in the same direction.

 By the way, such an experiment can be done by everyone. It is enough to come to a concert with a company of friends and begin to clap synchronously in those moments when you want it and the whole hall will repeat after you-) And it really works!

Some practical conclusions: do not make teams more than 20 people. 

20 people / 100% * 5% = 1 - this is a leader. Increasing the number of people entails a loss of management. 

In the classroom with 30-40 persons, it will be very difficult for the teacher to set the tone of the class and constantly keep the attention of the group. 

 The launch of such processes is possible only when people are in a state of not realizing their actions, goals and causes. When the level of personal discipline, awareness, control is very low. And this is already structureless management, when you do not need to tell everyone what it should do and how: 5% percent will suffice that will start the auto-synchronization process.

Many people use this phenomenon for mercenary purposes, launching rumors, for example, that in a couple of days some goods will disappear and 5% of those frightened and ran to buy these goods will suffice in order to stir up the others and after a while the markets will really become empty. Or 5% percent provocateurs is enough to trasform a peace meeting to mass slaughter.
