5 Ways To Cope With Stress
Today I want to talk to you about stress and 5 easy ways to cope with it You can listen to this song here while reading:
You can't always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes on inside.
--Wayne Dyer
I'm one of those people who can not work without stress. My life and the experiences I'm going through are defined by this major factor called stress. Despite all the beliefs and opinions of various psychologists and scientists who recommend us to get rid of stress and to "live life without worries," I share the view that stress is an element often necessary for the evolution of an individual. It is the element that gives us the motivation to get the best result and to be at our highest level. Of course, excessive stress can turn into a rather serious psychological problem if it occurs in the unfolding of simple things in everyday life.
We are stressed at school, at work, stressed by the family, by an important event to take place, and last but not least, we are stressed by our fear of failing in various circumstances. Why is it sometimes so strong that we feel that everything is crashing around us and that we can not get it done?
Why do we lose ourselves in insignificant details and think that Murphy's law applies all the time? Intense stress affects us both mentally and physically, overwhelms us, and makes us lose sense of reason. This high level of stress can lead to the development of severe depression or anxiety. That is why we need to understand how to overcome moments of nervous breakdown and use stress in a productive way.
- The time to relax is when you don't have time for it.-- Sydney J. Harris
- When you feel that you are in a critical state of stress, try to put yourself away for a few minutes of everything that overwhelms you. Find a place where you can be alone or have some fresh air, take a walk through the park, play with an animal, buy ice cream and do not focus on anything special. Let your mind go away for a while, this will make your tension come back to normal and it will revive you.
- Sometimes it is best to let your feelings out. A large percentage of people feel better and more confident after complaining about what disturbs them. It's okay to talk to someone about what you feel, instead of spilling frustration and nerves over those people.
- Focus on your physical health. Take care of yourself, if you are not a gym fan try going to a massage or yoga. This sort of activities will ease your muscles and it will give you a sense of peace. Be stingy with your time and keep a couple of minutes a day just for yourself.
- Spoil yourself from time to time, this will give you a feeling of confidence and it will reduce your level of stress. Buy yourself something nice or something you really wanted for a while or visit a new place, drink some tea or a smoothie.
- Focus on your nutrition, figure out a balanced way of combining what you want and what you need. Try slowing down with alcohol or smoking, although you think it helps you, it only makes you feel worse and more tense than before. Try adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet,do not drink too much coffee, it increases the level of adrenaline and makes your body react to it as if it was in danger.
What are your opinions on this matter? Can stress really have a positive effect upon us? Or it is just another problem we have to deal with? Let me know in your comments. Thank you for reading my post! :)
