Back to the topic, first what's an emotional support animal? It could be a companion animal that a medical professional has determined provides benefit for anyone with disabilities. This could include improving a minimum of one symptom of the disability. Most times we tend to do see dogs, cats and different animals as emotional support animals, however these days i may need to wrangle on snakes being one.

Snakes are fascinating creatures, they look like muscular noodles( i do not mean to spoil your love for noodles, lol) typically have stunning patterns and glide graciously through no matter surface they pass. Some snakes are indeed treacherous and poisonous, however all animals have some distant relatives that might be thought of within the same category. Even as dogs to wolfs and cats to tigers, lions etc. therefore it isn't a reasonable excuse to dislike snakes. could it be as a result of being mentioned in the Bible as a mischievous animal? What some reasons they're nice creatures and will not be unnoticed as an emotional support animal or used for therapeutical purposes.

Snakes likes to squeeze, typically once one is feeling down, all you wish could be a tiny embrace. Snakes are able to offer you comfort with the constrictions.

Animals have a motivating ability to calm even the foremost traumatized patients, helping them point out their feelings over, they do in typical therapy sections. This could be as a result of they're less seemingly to feel judged . Patients with mental health issues, usually they'll form a relationship with an animal that's more honest because they do not worry they're being classified as somebody with a mental health related problems. In individuals with bipolar disorder where patients experience extreme depressive lows and frenzied highs are typically drawn to snakes according to Dale Preece Kelly.source

Some of these animals particularly the snake is aware of when one has a seizure coming in, but reptilian specialists are reluctant to provide an opinion, however even dogs ability to predict seizures has been met with appreciable skepticism.

In as much as this sounds too good to be true and being ophidiophobic (a person who has phobia for snakes), i will pass on this therapy and resort to other alternative means. If this was counseled to you by your therapist, would you agree in doing it? additionally snakes are hypoallergenic. I also read that it's not legally bound in some countries to use as an emotional support animal.
