My first meditation five years ago.
Over 5 years ago I had my first intentional sitting in meditation. I was sitting in my bed and listened to an amazing binaural beat that calmed my mind and helped me to just completely let go. Maybe one of the first times in my life that I completely consciously just gave up control and dived deep in to my self. About 30 minutes later, I woke up, not really from a dream, but from a state of silence, surrender and peace. My reality was shifted. When I looked out through the balcony, the swaying trees outside was more vibrant and colourful than ever. Everything was more vibrant than ever. And a deep sense of belonging, connection and love for all this magic around me felt so natural. Since that day i’ve been practicing meditation, sitting everyday, but also as an ongoing way of perceiving the world. I have studied various techniques, schools, methods and ways of creating that very special flow within. Some help me understand how to work with my body-mind to create different incredible results. Some ways are not even ways, just completely go with it all, as it is. And that flowing state, going with it all and a deep deep allowing and remembering is for me a shower of love and compassion that awekens an awww every time it happens. Cause it’s not always like that, I find my self struggle, get caught up in problems, wishful thinking and fear. We are human, we are within polarity. In my heart I can feel a unity that can inspire my mind, yet a have to accept that the sun will always have shadow. And that shadow has amazing teachings too. And how amazing is it to come back home to a peaceful mind and a loving heart after a storm? And the trees, the sky, people, myself and everything starts to vibrant more colourfully again.
A key to this beautiful healing of a silent mind and ease in my body is breathing and focus. And teaching and training in HRV ( heart rate variability) has build in completely new levels of breathing rhythms/ heart rhythms that gives so much more foundation for my meditation practice. It also help me to be more conscious of the communication within my body, heart and brain. How they always need that communication and coherence to great a balance that is the foundation for flow and vibrant feelings. The automated behaviour of my system is changing and the breath and heart beat is becoming my greatest friend, ally and guides. In that focused breathing and synchronisation of heart rate variability that is sometimes called coherence. It is so much easier to clearly look in to my problems, feel my feelings and understand myself, other people and situations with compassion and creativity.
Seeing that meaning is my story, I create it as everyone else. That my state brings about experience in and out and that I do have a choice, I can shift, change and dream. This is all integrated as a complementary practice to my total integral practice which is inspired by much and many. But seem to point to the same. My dharma is to teach this, it’s my passion bringing in the brand new with the ancient.
So we’re our shining light and shadow. Sitting down to just be all that and completely go with it, has tremendous power and underlaying peace to it. Working with breath and focus can greatly assist in any part of life and especially meditation since it’s facilitating that surrender by just going with the breath. Here, rhythm, depth and duration is key. Breath slow, smoothly, rhythmically and keep focus. Focusing in the heart has great benefits to it. That in itself is so awesome. Surrender to that as it’s all ok. Ahh, great way ro re-begin or re-create flow when we’ve lost it.
Be you!
