RE: The 'curse' of human consciousness. An enlarged, expanded prefrontal cortex could be the source of all our misery
"A healthy, calm and clear mind comes from people who are trained to be in the moment as much as possible, focus and concentrate on what they are doing."
Clear and calm mind isnt healty. Its deadly. It wont protect you from future dangers.
8 000 000 000 reasons say that consciousness isnt a mistake. How many other great apes are there? How would you measure suffering?
What is the point of your post?
Context mate. Context. A calm mind which is more mindfull does not mean stress-free it just means more mindfull. It becomes anxious only when there is a clear objective and immediate threat. Not worry about everything. You cant support or discard that consciousness is a mistake in any way..its a philosophical question which is non-testable or falsifiable. Consciousness allows us to survive apparently but this does not explain much. I posted this for fun, food for thought and intellectual stimulation, a decent and pleasant discussion and to earn a few bugs.😆😆
I didnt say anything about stress free. If you want to have an honest conversation dont put words in to my mouth ok. How do you define mindfull and how do you measure it. What is the unit of mindfullness?
Why cant I disregard that conciousness is a mistake? How would you know what I can or cant do? Do you even know what philosophy is. Its not about non falsifiable claims. Its about reality.
Clear and calm mind is not deadly as you claim. Its just calm and it stresses only when there is a reason when survival is threatened as it is wired to do so. Read my post on the brain and anxiety if you wish. Especially anxiety disorders and emotional proceasing. All i am saying is that we should all learn to be calmer and enjoy our lives more not worrying too much about the future or dwell in the past even though worrying about the future help us to prepare our selves for danger. Our brains become anxious to protect from threats and this is how evolution shaped us. All i am saying is that our brains should be calmer and worry only about objective immediate threats and when there is real danger not worrying for the sake of worrying. That consciousness is an absurdity and an accident of nature together with the whole universe seems to fall in the realm of philosophy mostly and as much as you debate it using scientific evidence it wont get you far.
