I think you have nailed the reasons why 13 is considered unlucky. I know in South Korea they refuse to put the number 4 on the panel for the lift. I think they replace it with an f.
That probably confirms the Christianity theory even more as other non Christian countries have different numbers.

Yup, in the Eastern part of the world, Asian countries, 4 is "unlucky" to them ;)
I wonder what they shout if they hit a wayward shot in Golf? :)
