Stop blaming others and take responsibility

Blaming others for our mistakes is easy.

It allows us to not have to take responsibility for our own thoughts and actions, as it’s not our fault, right?!

Sadly enough it also means nothing changes, and a lot of bad things (that could have easily been avoided) will keep coming your way. It isn’t your fault after all, and if you play it right, that self pity might get you some attention. Something a lot of us lack to the extend that even negative attention will do.... This means you might even get "rewarded" for this type of behavior at times.

Since being rewarded is a form of validation, we don't question this behavior, and end up being stuck in an endless loop of not taking responsibility and getting rewarded for it.

It’s all a matter of taking responsibility for your life. Whatever it is you think or do, you are responsible for it! If you don’t like the situation you are in, then change it. If you can't change it, work on accepting it.

If you can’t accept it, skip the self pity as it only makes you feel miserable, and don’t blame others for being in a situation you don’t want to be in.

From all the people I know, my dad is the worst in this regard. He is the most passive person I know, always complaining how things aren’t how he wants them to be, but not actively doing something about it. And even when he gets others to help him out, (which ends up in others doing all the work) he’ll just end up blaming them when things go "wrong".

It’s really sad to see someone being so unhappy and blaming others for it, as you know that person will truly never be happy as the change has to start with him.

So I’d like to ask you to take a deep look inside and ask yourself:

“what is it I’m not happy about?”
“Can I change this?”
“If so, how can I change this?”

Start taking action to overcome this, or work on accepting the situation. Reality is all there is and being unhappy about it will only make you miserable!

Sometimes taking responsibility doesn’t necessarily mean you should take action, it can be a reframing of your thoughts and coming to acceptance with what is.

Well said Athena! :)

Taking responsibilities for your action is "growth". But development is actually taking responsibilities for your inaction. Nice piece... Would've upvoted twice

Ye it's taking responsibility for both indeed! Your inaction also ripples.

Nice to hear your liked it!😉

Always take full responsibility! Love this 💖💖💖

Aye!!!! It is time to stop making excuses! Happy to hear you liked it!!!💖

It's a key problem to our way of life, we keep doing or supporting things an not looking at the consequences as they relate to what we support, and we don't take responsibility.
