Millionaire Shortcuts 8 of 42: Inspiration gives motivation, routines gives results
Inspiration often comes in waves, it can be from other people that inspires, something you read or something you have experienced. It can give you a push for making big changes, make you start working against a bigger goal and is an important tool to get you started. But motivation tends to disappear just as fast as it comes, it vanishes in the daily chores, other things gets in the way. It is so easy to put your goal aside for another day, because today you want to binge-watch a TV series.
Routines are the tool you need to get results. A daily routine where you walk two steps closer to your goals will in the long run give you a great advantage instead of a short motivation boost that lasts a week. Is your goal learning a new skill? Set aside an hour each day working with the skill, reading about it, watching others online and learning from them, too much? Half an hour then, maybe even just fifteen minutes each day. No matter how small steps you take, each day you will be closer to your goals.
Find good routines in life when it comes to sleep, food, health, self-improvement and start taking small steps to reach your goals. Many interviews with the most successful people in the world shows that they have good routines for how they spend their day. They plan their time to actively work towards their goals, they try to minimize time used on pure entertainment and maximize time used on self-improvement. Learn the routine of these people, but most important of all find out what works for you. We are all different, just because the richest man in the world has something that works for him it does not necessarily work for you.
