Entheobotanic and Psychedelic resources

After some of my discussions around psychedelics, I thought I'd point people towards some educational resources that I've found helpful in the past - most of these should be well-known - I'm just trying to throw something out there other than the usual suspects (e.g.: The Shroomery).

International/all-round

Erowid - One of the oldest remaining drug-information sites. Information is generally up-to-date, but remember, putting chemicals (even naturally occurring ones) in your body is like an investment: do your due diligence.

Zendo Project - runs psychedelic harm reduction support programs at major festivals in the US. (I'd love to volunteer with these guys one day.)

Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) - One of the preeminant psychedelic research organisations - a wealth of information.

Psymposia - a leading educational media and events group for 'rethinking drugs'. Often a source of entertaining and thought-provoking articles.

Aussie focused

The Australian Psychedelic Society -

Is an organisation seeking to connect Australia’s psychedelic community to benefit, enjoy and contribute to their culture in a safe and supportive environment.
The APS is part of a global movement of psychedelic societies already established in places like the USA, UK and other European nations.
By creating a cohesive network, it is hoped that changes in drug policy, education and psychedelic use will be established based on evidence-based information, rather than fear-based propaganda.

Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Media Watch - Have you read or seen a news story about drugs that is inaccurate, biased, overly panicky or just plain wrong? Report it to these guys, so they can set the record straight!

Entheogenesis Australis (EGA) - If you can get to this, you really (really) should!

For over a decade Entheogenesis Australis has provided a major meeting place for ethnobotanical enthusiasts and specialists in Australia to share information and form a meeting point for the community.

Anyway, that's it for me for the next day or two. Have a good weekend, and stay safe.

Very interesting information @samueldouglas.

Have a great weekend.

Now I see why you moved to Melbourne. You could almost walk to the next EGA from there.
:)

Yeah, if I save all my post payouts I might be able to afford it too - no cash leftover after moving interstate last year.

Hey maybe you could tell me your thoughts on this. I noticed it was at Princeton which is an Ivy League school so it would seem there has to be something to it.

Tricky. Parapsychological research is all about statistical analysis, and my understanding is that this particular research has either failed tests of statistical significance and/or has been impossible to replicate by other researchers. Also, the lab that runs this used to be at Princeton - they were shut down in 2007.

Not saying it isn't interesting, but I'd be appropriately critical of what they are saying.

Thanks, I was thinking something like this would certainly bring more attention if proven true.
