Knowledge is a key to earning - Get enrolled in Steemitschool.

It was a great Thursday for me. Firstly I got a really good news about my nephew's successful surgery. It was such a good news to start up the day. The other part is the part that excited me the most. The part where I got to promote Steem and Steemit to the offline community. I always knew this day would come but I honestly didn't expect it would be this soon. We had got a slot to preach the good news of Steemit to the Department of Education in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. In simple term, call it 'steemangelism'. Note; when I say 'we' I mean the energetic team who works with me. The likes of @mistakili, @trillex, @olumideolowoyeye, @nwamaka and @ericdyce to mention the least. These people share similar great goals and vision as mine.

So this 'steemangelism' was initially proposed for Tuesday but due to unforeseen circumstances it was postponed to today, it felt like a long time to come by but the day finally came.

I must confess that it was a fulfilling experience when I sprung out of the shells to empower wonderful people who had listening ears to hear our news. But there was a popular challenge. This people still long for a miraculous change in the political system to help them elevate their present standard of living. I personally feel this is too much to ask of spirituality, because we must do something for change to begin. Accepting the bitter-truth that the political system is inadequate to cater for its citizens is a big eye-opener towards possessing the tools for life success.

A great man said, Great leaders are action takers and knowledge givers. This statement made a huge impression on my heart which propelled me to make the action to give the knowledge that would help people to make money for bread. It sounds magical but really simple.

Our time commenced at 10:45 am and @ericdyce took the stage to give an overview of social media networks. This was targeted at familiarizing the prospective steemians with the variety of social networks that there are. This is more easily expressible as taking them from the known to the unknown.

Thereafter was @trillex, his presentation was visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. It was clear as Crystal clear, biblical clear Mene Mene tekel upharsin. He explained the most popular terminologies on Steemit, elaborated on upvote and downvote, reputation, curation, authorship, commenting, powering up and powering down, flagging, rewards and a whole lot of familiar terms.

After @trillex was mistakili. He discussed extensively about the wallet. This is a man that is known to be meticulous with funds, no wonder his interest was the wallet. He started off with a point-blank statement and I quote 'the beginning of wisdom is when you view your wallet and you see your Steem Power as an investment'. Also before he concluded he mentioned the available exchanges where the cryptocurrencies can be traded. At this point the prospective steemians were dazed at how he had simplified the whole imaginably difficult process.

Then @nwamaka came up, she's the only female amongst us so she's basically the spice of the team. She spoke about Steemit Etiquette. This is like the advisable code of conduct on Steemit which includes Not Safe For Work (NSFW) contents, plagiarism, spamming messages, pleading for upvotes and a lot more annoying behaviors on Steemit.

@olumideolowoyeye introduced the rest of the tools on the Steem Blockchain. He opened the steem.supply homepage and showed how the tool is used to track potential payouts. Another tool he mentioned was Dtube which is more like the popular YouTube that they are all familiar with, again this is taking them from the known to the unknown. This proves to be the best method of teaching. DLive, Steemd.com, Steemnow, steemexchanger.ng were also extensively explored. Lest I forget, He also mentioned Discord App and the opportunities that awaits new users who make good usage of this app.

Finally it was my turn, I had gathered a lot more momentum than I've envisaged. As they were potential users, I introduced to them the community that supports new users. They opened their minds to listen because this was the part where their woods were already getting wet. I shared the goals, mission and vision of Steemitschool to the prospective steemians and charged them to be a part of the biggest movement on Steemit. They had a lot of questions which we provided adequate answers to.

At the end of the presentation, we took pictures and exchanged contact details with the new users. It was a great moment as we recorded a great number of new users to be joining Steemitschool.
