#PROMO-STEEM NIGERIA: RECOUNTING THE SUCCESS OF THE STEEM-POWERED MEGA MEETUP (Despite Low Prices)!
Hello Steemians,
See what we did with steem despite the low prices! We are in a crypto-economy where almost everything is in a dip. Even our beloved steem is looking bloody but we found ourselves still promoting it.
Why? Its simply because we love this platform so dearly. Well, its not just because of our love but for the fact that we have seen a future in it. WE HAVE SEEN OUR FUTURE ON THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN. This is why what we do may not make sense to alot of persons.
This blockchain has the capacity to change alot of lives for the better. Developing nations can get that assistance they so dearly need via disruptive technologies like the steem blockchain. Not to talk of the effect this has on many of our youth who waste their idle time online achieving nothing of use with Fakebook, Gurgle, Instagas, Twirat, Pootube etcz.
At a time like this when Nigerians are beginning to see the viability of this technology, we really need to hit the hammer on the head and bring them here. Getting them signed up is the key strategy towards a viable long-term growth in this platform. We also help to make sure they stay after signing up.
SPREADING THE LOVE NODE TO OWERRI
As steem-ambassadors, we are poised with the responsibilty to take steem-power to steemians & prospective steemians online & offline. This time around, we took the love node to a big city in Nigeria, Owerri.
With @Gloglo & @Xpency on the way to the event venue
As expected, Owerri is a beautiful city with an air of fun and liveliness. There are always beautiful things and beautiful people to see whenever you visit this magnificent city.
SO bringing this meetup to such a city was definitely a fantastic idea. @Eurogee is a great man not just for making this happen, but also for bringing people from many different ethnic background & cultures together for the purposes of steeming it.
WHAT WENT DOWN?
Alot went down actually, I will start from the uncommon things that happened. This is the first meetup where I watched a live drama organized by @Ehiboss and the Steemywood drama club. Comedy skits, live presentations, red carpet photography, interviews, light refreshment, etcz were the order of the day.
Community leaders stealing a quick pix.
It was a learning opportunity for many newbies. For many of them it was there first meetup so you can understand how they felt. I'm sure There's no better feeling than getting to meet these people who you have come to admire online (for one reason or another).
@Eurogee who put this event together with the @Euronation family is a man of timbre & caliber. He was able to capture the essence of these meetups by relating it to politics. He envisioned that by the end of 2018 Nigeria should be one of the major forces to reckon with in the cryptocurrency arena. It was worthwhile listeneing to him remind us of why we all always come together for the purpose of steeming despite our markedly different backgrounds.
The talks were lit as usual. @Tojukaka opened the floor with a detailed explanation of the steem blockchain and how it differs from steemit. @Ehiboss pulled through with a talk on password security. Steem witnesses were a sure area of focus with @Gloglo smartly enumerating the gains of voting witnesses.
Me, my mouth & eye were all there to make it all worth your while. I gave a talk on Steem-Powered Projects like @DTube, @DLive, @DSound, @Utopian-io, @Air-Clinic, @Stach, @Dmania etcz. I also stressed on the importance of bringing your ideas, businesses, professions, talents & skills to the blockchain for better visibility & exposure.

Other notable speakers include @Michaelcj, @Gee1, @TheHeralds, @Xpency etcz. The Mc was not leaving any dull moments with his bag-full of steem jokes we could all relate with. This perhaps is the unveiling of @Chrisdsteemsports. I was particularly impressed by his sports commentary records.
WHO ELSE CAME?
The presence of @Gbenga, @DestinySaid, @Fisteganos, @Mimy, @Drigweeu and other notable community leaders will never be over-emphasized. They added the usual classic feel to this event which we would not get otherwise.
I got the opportunity to hangout with so many of my online friends & co-workers on Air-Clinic. The list goes on from Dr. @Uc-phoenix, @Adorablechi (Clinic Receptionist), @Queenbrand (Amiable miss), @Dubem-eu (A consistent fan of healthy lifestyle), @Zizymena (A lovely lady consistently active in the clinic), @jennyluv, @julistar, @Donnest, @iamchijamz, and so many others I can't recall right now.
@Queenbrand, I & @AdorableChi
You all are awesome. I hope we were able to impart in your lives in a little way. A little would be enough because that leaves a large room for self-discovery and growth. Hope to see you all again sometime.
Massive audience at the Owerri meetup!
ARE THERE LESSONS?
After every meetup, I think through the events and try to pick lessons. This one was a super great effort by the @Euronation family. I couldn't help but notice the unity in the family. I couldn't help but notice that they were full of love and admiration for each other.
Every aspect of the event was excellently done and I particularly liked the fact that duties were delegated to individuals. I could see the computer guy @Royaltiesbosseu doing his thing while the MC did his. I could see the ladies doing a pretty good job in distributing the refreshments while the some others monitored the event timing and made sure everything fell in place.
I also appreciate the red carpet and multiple steem-projects on the posters. Thank you for including @Air-Clinic. I really love and appreciate that gesture. You also included other viable projects which is a good call.
Thank you for taking charge to find us the pocket-friendly but comfortable lodge. We were safe and sound throughout the entire activity. Bringing most of us into that same atmosphere always has a way of increasing steem bonds and encouraging inter-steemian cooperation/discussions.
Special thanks to @Sndbox for supporting us all.
Once more, thank you for having me at the Owerri Mega Steem Meetup! It was a blast! I'm glad to be part of history at the Eastern heartland of Nigeria!
IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!
My aim is to leave you better than I find you everyday!
Proudly A...

Organising meetup at this market dip situation isn't an easy thing at all, that's why i compliment the efforts of the big boss of @euronation, @eurogee for all the efforts and resources put in place to make Owerri meetup a successful one. It was really worth the hype and was fun throughout.
