I am down with a cold but still up for the fight! Steemit Meet Up 4!
Cough....Cough....Snort!!
Cough....Cough....Cough....Cough....Snort....Snort!!
Oh my God! I can barely feel my head. Is it still on my shoulders? I am so light headed right now. I think I am having hallucinations as well.
I am currently in bed with my laptop over my lap working on finishing an incredibly long and interesting transcript. I keep zoning out and zoning back in. Must be the cough syrup with a very conspicuous warning, "Do not operate machinery!" I guess my work laptop can fall under the machinery category, right?
During these moments what I like to do is get on Steemit and try and provide relief to my brain. I try and distract my brain from the fact my lungs are burning like they are filled with acid and my right eyeball is throbbing so hard I can feel my heart beat when I touch it. Funny thing is that I have not had a cold for over a whole year. I thought I was becoming invisible and now I am bedridden with a pile of tissues and dustbin to keep me company.
My very sweet and friendly neighbor was kind enough to bring me some lemons, tangerines, and oranges to help mend me. I couldn't be more grateful to her.
I don't know what it is about the common cold though. Every time I contract the virus it sort of gives me superpowers. I am not kidding with this. Not actual superpowers but just an ability to do things better than I usually do them. For a short period of time between bouts of lethargy I can type faster, I can code better and faster and I can actually play the bar chords on my guitar very easily.
It is weird. Like some people out there my mind is always conceiving new ideas, revisiting old ones constantly like an infinitely powered machine. Sometimes it takes me a while to go to sleep as I churn idea after idea in my head, most of the time involuntarily. Incredibly, like some people I have spoken to in the programming field, I can actually code in my sleep. Being able to visualize a project I have been working on exactly as it is and working out the kinks in my dreams and typing up the solution once I wake up. I bet there are more people out there who experience this same thing.
Anyway, all this is leading up to the fact that tomorrow is our 4th Kenyan Steemit Meet up and I am very much buzzing to be there. Or is that just my pressurized Central Nervous System flaring up.
Kenyan Steemit Meet Up.
So, this is kind of our monthly anniversary. We want to hear and learn about the success stories and the challenges the Kenyan Steemians are going through. We also want to share ideas on how we can advance and be among the bigger audiences on Steemit.
Something that I have noted that has discouraged me a bit is how some members fell off the grid when the price of Steem and SBD went down. While it is understandable, my goal as an "ambassador" for Steem in Kenya has always to advocate for resilience. Even when things are bad if you do not have the will to continue and strive to grow yourself on Steemit nobody can be of help to you.
While regrettably, we will have people fall off along the way I still hope to continue to convince them to stay and help them in any way I can. @BoosterKe is one of those ways. By delegating more than half of my Steem Power to the account I hope to encourage other people to do the same and help curate posts for minnows who are struggling to earn.
Meanwhile, despite this common cold, I will be at the Meet Up which will be at the Karura Forest where I did a Nature Trail video sometime last year. I hope most of the members will be there and we can have a very fruitful discussion, ride bikes, and exercise. I promise not to infect anyone. :D
I sincerely want to thank everybody for their continued support and hope to continue to deserve it.
Thank you for getting this far. I hope you all have a nice and profitable day on Steemit and see you in the next one.

Good post guys
Ouch so sorry about your health.. Please try help your self with some pills to feel better. @deniskj
I am on a syrup right now. All I am doing now is yoaning and sneezing. I appreciate the message and I hope to be well soon. Thank you.
@deniskj. I stumbled across your blog and wanted to share with you something that works like magic. I do everything natural and elderberry is amazing for knocking down colds. I usually just keep lozenges in my mouth for hours until it subsides. I rarely get sick now, because I keep a little elderberry in my life at all times now. Hope you feel better quickly.
I had to google and see what fruit elderberry was. It has a different local name over here. I am going try it out. Currently I have a whole box of Strepsils lozanges that are helping quite a bit. I keep popping one in my mouth forgetting that it is actual medicine and I am 'overdosing' ☺☺ but who cares. They help. Thank you for the great tip. I will be putting it to use tomorrow.
You are so welcome. Let me know how they work for you. 😀
Thank you deniskj for making a transfer to me for an upvote of 3.90% on this post!
Half of your bid goes to @budgets which funds growth projects for Steem like our top 25 posts on Steem!
The other half helps holders of Steem power earn about 60% APR on a delegation to me!
