Steemit Roadshow at Huddersfield University - 22 September 2017
Yesterday, the #promo-steem roadshow continued with @starkerz and myself out at Huddersfield University talking to people about Steemit.
@starkerz, @tomasgeorge, @ashleypeat and myself had already spent all day thursday at Leeds University talking to probably around 150+ people who we literally stopped on the street and encouraged them to come and learn about, and join, Steemit.com. After I left the three of them in the pub at around 11:30pm and got a train home (I'm a little older, and I really need my bed these days) those crazy guys were out drinking until 5am!!!
So, getting actually @starkerz over to Huddersfield the next morning was a testiment to his youth and vitality, and sheer motivation to get out there and talk about Steemit.
These are some of the lovely people we met in my hometown of Huddersfield:
This lady was bonkers...and really well connected!
what a dude this guy was. Knew about bitcoin, and wanted to understand Steemit in great detail.
this argentinian overseas student will be a huge Steemian we just know it!
these girls kept us a little occupied longer than we expected....
the guy on the left had lost his wallet, and been given an on-the-spot fine that day. Lets hope he becomes a steemian and makes loads from it!
after nearly falling through a door which simply dropped 30ft onto the court, we met these two guys playing basketball...and yes, @Starkerz really can hoop....
@starkerz finally gets it in the basket, after forty failed attempts....
We finished the day at the famous Rat & Ratchet, drinking with some of the University lecturers, and convincing them to give us a platform to speak to students and faculty members about blockchain, steemit and the future potential of decentralised money, technology and economy. We did have to promise not to mention Anarchism though!
The #promo-steem / #promo-uk Roadshow continues.
Huge kudos to @starkerz who is doing the WHOLE 3 weeks, and to the captain @stephenkendal for his tireless work, and everything he has put in to make #promo-steem what it is.
And also to the rest of the #promo-uk team, and everyone who has turned out, and will be turning out over the next few weeks.
Please support #promo-steem - We are funding the entire tour from our own pockets, bringing more people onto the Steemit platform, both users and investors. We are all about helping Steemit to grow to be a Facebook killer, and to be something that is more than just a blogging site.
We truly believe in the long term potential of Steemit, and we need your help and support to make it real.
Upvoting and resteemit helps to reimburse us all who have spent time and money promoting Steemit. But the very best thing you can do is to join us in bringing new and intersting people to the platform, and educating them about what Steemit is.
Thanks for reading!
Awesome post and well-done guys for continuing to spread the Steemit love!! Also, I'm surprised @starkerz looks so fresh after our drinking the night before haha!
He's a bon-viveur our @starkerz you know....but i hear you were out sarjing till 5am!!!!
It is the steem running through my blood that keeps me fresh ;))

Wow awesome and great people in steemit are spreading the good news outside the cyber world. Keep going!
Thanks @bobiecayao. We are doing our best to spread the word, and bring in not just new bloggers, but new money and investment too. Myself, @starkerz and @stephenkendal are speaking at the London Investor Show next month about Steemit, and its potential as a platform for savvy investors.
You really doing greet. The more people like you, will strengthen the steemit community and even better in the future.
I agree. Thanks for your support!
Interesting how you promote Steemit In university... In recent times I did it too. As a lecturer I obligate my students to have a steemut account.
Thanks for info sharing
haha. cool. back a few years ago, you had to buy the lecturers book to pass the course...now you have to have a Steemit account. That should definitely be a thing!!!
