The first few years after I left, it was really about unpacking the baggage from my past. It was a journey that forced me to confront my own fears, choices and how these were in a way perpetuating the situation I found myself in while living in New York. Each layer forced me to be honest and take responsibility for my role and choices and lack thereof. It was while journeying the depths of the labyrinth of my mind, that I came to realize that I had the power to create my own path and do it on my terms. I am still in the process of rebuilding my life and I plan on writing a follow-up post. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
