Stakeholder Analysis - Approches
In my previous post I tried to depict how not undertaking stakeholder analysis affect the success of any projects. If undertaking stakeholder analysis is important to the success of a project, therefore it is important to deal how effectively to undertake stakeholder analysis. In this post I will give you few tips on major steps of stakeholder analysis
Identify: a simple brain storming is a simple tool to identify stakeholders. What you can do is thing about the parties that could affect any of your project action ether in a positive or negative ways. These parties could be individuals or groups. Just list them all.
Understand: Once you identified, listen to them what they expect out of your project. Let them know what the project brought to them. Understand their basic intent whether they are pro or against your actions. Will they support or hinder you?
Prioritize: when you make a priority, think about their power and importance. I mean, you don’t need all your stakeholders equally important. Similarly, all might not have equal power to influence your actions. There may be stakeholders who have higher influence, the other moderate and the rest few or no influence. Just give them rate and categorize them as high, moderate and low.
Mange your stakeholders: after prioritizing your stakeholders based on their level of importance and influence, now evaluate their synergy and opposition. This is importantly helps you to device strategies effectively to interact and communicate with each them in your future endeavor. This might include clear set of information that you could give (what information to whom and how)
