Bitcoin mining energy consumption
All, I came across a tweet from the @anonymous_alts twitter account which puts the energy consumption of the mining of BitCoin in a nice perspective.
Where some of the concerns of Bitcoin mining energy consumption are always on the table when you have a conversation with Family or friends. it would be good to be aware of the table shown below:
It shows that power consumption of Bitcoin mining compared to physical Gold mining. With BitCoins market cap slowly moving in the direction of the market cap of Gold it is great to see that the energy consumption for the mining is actually considerable less
The data that you socialize shows that the energy consumption for BTC mining is actually considerably lower if we compare it to the production of physical mining. The truth is that estimating the total energy consumption that Bitcoin is absorbing gives us an idea of how economical and efficient it is to do crypto-currency mining. Greetings @carapthian, thanks for sharing this table, be well.
Thanks for sharing link to this post @carapthian
It's quite short :) But ... I guess you just went straight to the point :)
And indeed. This table provided by you does put things into perspective. Luckily, noone ever bothered me about that issue and I never had a need to "stand by bitcoin".
Cheers, Piotr
