Windows, Mac or Linux user?
Hey steemit users how are you all doing? Well i will write today about what is your favorite OS and why do you use it.
I normally use for everyday work Linux. I have been using it now for over 1 year and have not had any Virus, Ransomware or Trojans destroying my files or asking me to pay some blackmailer to decrypt my computer files.
I have been able to work with Linux and not worry about having any compatibility issues with Windows lately. I save my files as .PDF, .ODT and .DOC and lately Windows has been able to load and read them perfectly.
On previous versions this was a disaster due to MS CEO and its policy to privatize their file systems. Lately MS has forgotten that and has become one of the Linux Foundation most prominent contributors and helpers.
I use Linux to surf the web, open multimedia files, check my email very securely now since i can do all that using the TAILS distro and avoiding having any privacy disclosures or some sniffer or hacker try to get into my computer.
What i like about Linux is the fact that almost all its software is open source which means that you can modify it and make your own versions without having to pay royalties to the maker of the software.
So, steemit user, which one do you like the most and why?
I use linux. I love linux for many reasons. Especially since I have had lots of CS classes. Linux has all kinds of compilers already loaded and ready to go. Having an open terminal window is just natural. ... And all of those other reasons you've discussed about linux.
Linux has gotten very easy to install. In fact, on older hardware, it is easier to install linux then it is to upgrade to Windows 10. (my poor friends :-(
I also have this to say, Windows is not an OS.
An operating system needs to provide access to all of the I/O and control of all running programs. So, try to tell winders to kill a virus, or delete a corrupted file.

That is true because there are even linux distros that you can even install on 486 machines to use as routers or whatever you want and they will fly!!!
What version of Windows or Mac OS does this?
P.S: Do not throw away 386 or 486 machines install Linux on them and use them as you wish!!!
I use Windows (10) at work all day because A) that's what's on the work machine and B) Chrysler only releases Windows versions of the software I need to use. I use macOS as my daily driver at home because it just works. I don't think I've run across anything that didn't work the way I wanted it to without having to do any kind of work to get it to. I was using Linux (xubuntu mostly) as my daily driver at home for the last few years, but once I got a chance to sit down at a Mac there was just no turning back. No more weird audio and video driver configs, no messing with JACK for low-latency audio podcast recording/monitoring, no dependency issues trying to make kdenlive work on anything other than KDE, etc... I do actually love Linux and I still run it on a couple machines for a server and a proxy device, but I've decided it just isn't for me as a desktop OS. I'm too lazy to put the work into it for any of my fringe use-cases and oddball hardware.
I've actually been enjoying Windows 10 a bit, but it's probably mainly because it's reminding me more of Linux than Windows lately. Once they get some of the bash issues straightened out it should be a really cool way to get some work done.
Well Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 GUI idea came from Ubuntu. The multimedia side is where linux has its cons, but, that is getting in shape already.
Linux has Blender and there are open standards on the way to create a unique multimedia solution that is compatible with every distro and GUI. I have had those problems but i am not a multimedia developer i am mainly a mainstream linux user so i see no problems in that area.
I want very secure policies and that is where linux is strong. I don't have to pay royalties to upgrade my distro also.
Absolutely. If the hardware support was a bit better (fault of the manufacturers and not Linux developers) I'd quite possibly switch back in an instant.
Well if everyone did not want to make a new linux distro everytime then the multimedia driver problem wouldn't be a big issue.
I use Linux at home, on my laptop I use RemixOS, which is basically Android for PC. So I have no compatibility problems, almost.
