is Php really Dying?

so i'm a front end web developer and learning back end using php and laravel. whenever i tell my friends or other fellow programmers they thinks php is not relevent in 2019 because they don't know php. php isn't going anywhere tons of jobs available in php all around the globe and its quite popular in freelancing world too.

PHP still powers over 80% of the web and with some awesome changes in PHP 7.3 and beyond (especially PHP 7.4), I would say PHP has a long future ahead.

The only issue is sites using PHP 5 and older.

wordpress is also not going anywhere soon. so if any of you want to learn php just learn it don't argue with other whether its dying or not focus on the market that php has.

and my Take is That It isn't dying. Other languages are growing.
