I liked your post a lot. And I totally agree that javascript is the language to go for 2018, the javascript community is just amazing, helpful and really fast growing. Whenever you face an issue on a daily basis, you can/will find a solution on stackoverflow in most cases.

Also great that you mentioned Go. I was playing a little bit around with it last year. In comparison to javascript I enjoy the typechecking and the well done compiler messages a lot. Another great thing about Go is that the output is just a single binary file which you can run with some options everywhere incredible easy.
