I was surprised to hear the video have a different interpretation of the 3rd tone than what you put in your charts. Your chart was what I was already familiar with - the dip and rise, but she's indicating a low monotone sound instead.
What is your comment about this?

    Hi, I am really glad to see that you have read the post :)

    The third tone is really tricky, in commonly spoken Mandarin it doesn't rise again. I wrote on the post this little comment about it:

    The tones are depicted within our natural voice range, within that interval the first tone is a high and flat pitch, the second tone us a rising pith, the third tone is first a descending then a rising pitch (in natural spoken language it occurs mostly as a descending soft tone called half third tone), and the fourth is a sharp descending pitch.

    So there you have it, what we mostly will hear from native Mandarin speakers (I dare say 80%+ of the time) is the half third tone.
