RE: Steem Academy Playground: Learning Mandarin. Part 1
Here is the link to the video he made on Dtube
The video ends with a tongue twister, it will be the challenge for this week in order to choose the winners of the SBI shares. You will have to upload a video to either Youtube or Dtube reading the tongue twister. For accuracy sake, our Chinese friend @starrouge will choose the top three participants who will be rewarded accordingly. Remember that the sole condition to be eligible will be that you should somehow spread the word about Steemit. You could just invite a friend or a relative to create an account, you could use social media as Telegram, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook or whatever you want, and finally, write a comment on this post with the link of your video and the screenshot/photo of your chosen method to raise the awareness of Steemit.
I will be expecting your entry :)

You are violently pushing me out of my comfort zone, @joelsegovia shifu! Speaking on video... promoting Steemit, which I considered my secret private-journal-like platform... ^^
Here is the video: youtu.be/OfITy9rWdxo
My promotion effort is to add a link to my Steemit account on all platforms where my music is available for streaming: Soundcloud, Spotify, Choon, Bandcamp, Youtube, and CDbaby.
Thank you and @starrouge!
Trust me, before I joined Steemit and Whaleshares my facebook account was inactive for more than six years. I had no phone, I always spoke to people face to face... But, when someone told me that there is a way for me to fund community projects without needing to go to a bank office, in a decentralized, borderless, and almost instantly way, I replied where is it and why didn't you tell me before :)
I'll drop by your music channels and check them out. And by the way, it is not necessary for you to show your face as long as you create some kind of proof that it is you the one who is recording the audio. You could start recording with some nice music :) it is up to you, be as creative as you want...
And the music channel idea is terrific, the idea is not to drive you out of your comfort zones at all... quite the contrary, give me some feedback to improve the quality of the project in order to please as many participants as possible... the key is to find a good approach that allows us to prevent abuse and boost enjoyment....
Now with regard to less troublesome affairs, I have to confess that I am music illiterate (I dunno if this concept is valid lol) and it will be nice to learn a little about it. Eastern music is very ancient, I'll try to find a Chinese Steemian who knows about eastern music.
Thank you for being in touch, best regards.
We are on the same page about social media! Steemit was the first to interest me, came for "easy" cryptocurrency and stayed for the community.
Thanks for the advice about recording audio-only, but it's actually a good thing to be pushed out of my comfort zone, shyness is silly and pointless anyway ^^
It would be really great if a musically literate chinese steemian could help you make an article with chinese music as theme! This or Beijing opera, which is amazing. Also chinese singing is so special and cool, because of the way the intonations are incorporated in the melody.
Best regard likewise.
Congrat! You did a great job, especially for the 1st tone [mā],the fourth tone [mà] and the neutral tone [ma]. you have a good pronounciation of [mā] [mā]/[mà]/[ma], which means mother / scold/ question particle. that's clear.
My suggestion is the transition from [mà] to [má] and from [mà] to [mǎ], it is better to slow down the transition. it the same logic in English, when a verb is followed by a noun, there is a very short pause between them. but don't worry, even for native chinese, the transition is also very hard lol
In some way, chinese tone is similar to the flow of music. It is an emotional language. If you have other questions, please tell me and I would love to share my experience. Keep practicing and steem on!
Thank you for the advices starrouge shifu! I'll keep practicing listening so the transitions, and the second and third tone, can become more natural.
