We should probably stop procrastinating.

If you currently find yourself in the unfortunate situation of reading my first blog post on Steemit, you’re either having some down time or doing some research on whatever this post may have to offer you. Or procrastinating.

In fact, as I write this blog post, I have an assignment due tomorrow morning that I haven’t done yet. I’m procrastinating so intensely that I may not end up turning it in.

The fact is we all procrastinate for a number of different reasons. If it’s for math class, we just don’t wanna look at numbers and instead we watch YouTube videos. If it’s something we need to do for mom we’ll forget about it, listen to her yell and move on. But what about for things we need to do for ourselves and our ambitions?

I’ll eat healthier and go to the gym when I can afford it.

I’ll start shooting video after I buy a nice camera.

I’ll write more after I read X amount of books.

I’ll produce music once I buy a nice pair of monitors.

My business idea is great but I can’t pursue it yet because it’s too advanced for anyone to understand.

We do it because we live as though our time on Earth is unlimited. We give our time so generously to everyone we know that we rarely give ourselves time to grow and develop. To put it into perspective, if you knew you had ten years left in you, how would you live life differently? It now seems a lot more practical to chase even a part of the dream you’ve wanted to have.

But even if you don’t know how much longer you’ll have, your time is still limited.

Since I’m nearing the end of my blog post, it’s time that I impart on you my wisdom and tell you not to procrastinate anymore. Except that would make me a hypocrite.

I’m writing my thoughts about procrastinating because I am currently doing just that. But I have no regrets because at least in my procrastination I did something productive.
