Imaginary city maps: Metropologeny's greatest hits
Metropologeny is a Twitter bot by @mewo2 (Martin O'Leary) that produces city maps showing streets and buildings. Sometimes they're spare and simple; other times dense. They usually curve and twist, so the fictional cities are more like London or Boston than Omaha. Sometimes you can find cathedrals, or green spaces in the midst of the city, lakes and coastlines, and other prompts for imagination. Martin cites a SIGGRAPH 2008 paper, "Interactive Procedural Street Modeling" as an inspiration.
