TOR Project Donation
As I mentioned in my June Witness Update, I was going to donate 50% of the SBD reward to the TOR Project.
The post received 185.764 SBD, which means I will be donating 93 SBD to the TOR Project. As TOR project asks for an amount, I have entered 110 USD (the current market rate of almost $2 per SBD is incorrect because Poloniex is not accepting SBD at the moment).
I used @blocktrades to send 93 SBD to their BitPay address
Sadly they sent it with a low transaction fee, however it should hopefully confirm in the next few hours, and TOR Project should receive an nice $110 donation :)
Any further rewards from this post will be donated to another internet freedom/privacy non-profit. If you have any suggestions for them, leave them in the comments. I will avoid making another post unless there's a massive amount on this post, else I'll be stuck in an endless loop (as happened with my previous RiseUp Donations).

I absolutely love tor browser . My business partner and I use it over chrome whenever we get the chance. Some chrome extensions are just too necessary for us otherwise we would uninstall in an instant.
wasn't tor created by United states defense department , and do they really need funding?

I believe Darpa only funded the original design of Tor. it has become it's own open source platform since then.

Yeah it's part of what makes Tor secure is the anonymous nod network which no one has central control over. it's decantrlized.

Government Created Internet, that couldn't possibly mean that Tor is used for evil things by the government.

In the context of donating to "Tor" or complete internet anonymity(slaps knee), under the question of, "isn't tor the brainchild of Darpa", implying that you're using the mechanism by which the state used to maintain complete internet anonymity to maintain anonymity online, questioning why donate if it's being funded by taxes regardless of donations, you say So what, they also created the internet.
So what does that mean?
Tor was created specifically for the use of government for communicating sensitive, or secret information, and was ran as such and they realized that it compromises the objective of maintaining integrity over such information, thus they let the public use it so their agents could get lost in the rest of the noise and not compromise themselves and the information by being exclusively gathered on one network. On the other hand the internet wasn't created to facilitate the secrecy of the state and those operations at all, and it didn't require for it to be released to the public in order to maintain the integrity of the system, in that context it's a moot point that Government created the internet because the context here is the ability of the network to maintain integrity over providing anonymity, which is crucial, and yet it cannot, as has been demonstrated numerous times so far, regardless of the implications behind They created the internet.

Well, I am so much into donation. I have a thing for helping people. Infact, I always donate half of my steemit earnings to charity. Because this is the way we can make this world a better place.
