Squirrel!
Simple name for an animal but also a word that is used by many when they get distracted by something.
Lately it seems like I have about a dozen squirrel events happening several times a day to the point that at the end of the day I wonder what I achieved all day!
How many reading this also have this happen?
Wake up, get coffee, start computer, login to steemit (squirrel #1), look at clock and realize I have been reading blogs for an hour! I pop in each time I sit down.
Yup I could spend the entire day reading ;-)
Get another cup of coffee and go into and work on tinctures (Squirrel #2) (I can really lose the day doing this ).
Grab some food and another cup of coffee (reality is I don't use a cup but a mug that equals 2 cups of "Instant human" (just add coffee).
Decide what I am willing to cook for supper and pull it out of the freezer along with what all will be needed for the meal.
Come back to my computer and get lost again (email Squirrel #3), check YT (Squirrel #4, #5, #6) I follow some awesome folks on there, get some housework done (yup as a multi-tasker it can feel like nothing is done because one thing leads to another).
So how many of you are guilty of doing this?
Some days I wonder if maybe I need to go back to work so I can rest!
Real squirrel ;-)
Chime in and chat!
I regularly have squirrel moments.
LOL I know you do ;-)
Going back to upvoting those who engage dialog, before I was going and upvoting their blogs.. Sure stopped a lot of the bots ;-)
I had to smile at your photo. I my world I see real monkeys on the street lines and my day has many interruptions shutting windows because the naughty little things get in through the windows and steal whatever fruit or vegetables that they spy through the glass.
I am glad it brought a smile to your face, I don't know how you would handle them coming in stealing..
I run around closing windows . ha ha. They are awfully cute though, especially the babies. I am so tempted to feed them, but that is the worst thing one can do.
I could see that turning into a major issue if you get them in the habit of you feeding them!
I grew bananas and granadills, and pawpaw but alas, the only ones who enjoyed them were the monkeys, but they are destructive in the sense that they pick the green fruit, take a bite and throw the rest away. Now I grow lemons.
Is there no way to place nets around the trees to prevent them from getting to the fruit?
Oh I tried that but they are so destructive. They are so cunning in they way they operate in their troop. The bull taunts the dogs and keeps them occupied whilst the rest of the troop raid.
I console myself with the fact that we are the invaders into their territory and I can always buy a banana or two. HA HA.
That is interesting to learn!
Oh boy, I hope you are ready for the yarn ball of thoughts you unravelled with this one..
Squirrel moments? All the time! But I’m working on it. I have to put effort into intentionally spend quality time with my kids. My parents weren’t very intentional, and so I think that’s why it’s hard for me as well.
YouTube? I don’t have an account there, but I watch regularly. I find it funny that everyone says they don’t get notified of new videos, because my feed always shows me new videos by the regularly watched channels. But oh my, if I go off on a tangent and watch something out of the ordinary, my feed is filled with all sorts of craziness. P.S. Have you noticed YouTube put ads on New2Torah’s videos?! What’s up with that?
Multitasking has never worked for me. I think someone made up that whole concept to make them feel better about themselves lol :)
I’d love a break here and there, but I don’t think I’d ever want to go back to work. At least, not in the traditional sense.
Yup I noticed the ads and I could bet Zac does not get a dime.
I have always had many pokers in the fire for to many years to not be multi-tasking!
Start a load of laundry, pick some beans while it is going, get them soaking, dust/sweep the floors, go move clothes to the dryer, start the beans cooking, yup you get the drift ;-)
