Good stuff @underground! I did a lot of scrapping in my younger days and many times, when we were just starting out, that made the difference in being able to pay a bill that was due or extra cash to buy a nice dinner.

I still do scrap out my metal detecting finds, Lead, Copper and Brass....about once oer year. I figure its good to get it out of the ground, plus it's a little challenge for me to see what I can buy at the end of the year, with my scrap metal money combined with all of my common clad coin finds. Last year, I was able to pick up a 1/4 ounce gold coin. So that seemed worth the effort. I'm surprised what people will through away in my area though. No one seems to recycle metals much, since the steel prices are lower?
