Awesome post! We just had the last dregs of Cindy come through. It was much milder than I was expecting. We're not completely storm ready but getting closer every day. Loss of power and no way to work well pump is the biggest issue that we have to mitigate still.
I would put those at the top of our list, too. Even after making this we're still a work-in-progress. Though, probably always will be. :) I have dreams of putting a large water tank at the top of our hill to then gravity feed our home in an emergency, but those tanks are $$$! Maybe someday. ;)
Oh i know, we've got all sorts of plans like that LOL. As a sort-of back-up, we're putting in an above-ground pool. it will provide us about 15,000 gallons of water to use for bathing, watering the animals and laundry. A water tank would be better but I guess this is kind of dual purpose and maybe less obvious :)
