Oct. 10th is usually the normal start of the fall leaf turning in the mountains. Not sure about this year, the weather has been a bit off. It looked like it was starting early down in Saluda.
Because they introduced elk and turkey to the Smokey Mountains, the Appalachian range in North Carolina will have plenty of hunting food in TEOTWAWKI. Of course, they'll have to deal with Charlotte and everyone there trying to head into the mountains.
Forrest Gump ran down that curve in the movie. Of course, that just means he was lost on one of his trips from coast to coast. LOL

Looks like beautiful country. Reminds me of the Ozarks and Ouichita Mts. Here in Arkansas.
