Chelsea 3-2 Arsenal
Sarri-ball will be fun they said!
They we're right (not all the time).
Of course it was a joy to watch Chelsea for the first 15-20 minutes of todays game. Chelsea players were here and there and everywhere and Arsenal just couldn't handle Chelsea players runs in between and behind Arsenal's defensive line.
Then suddenly Chelsea looked liked a really poor ("horrible" was the word Sarri used after the game) team, at least defensively. Arsenal got momentum in the game and started to put the ball into the penalty area from both flanks and Chelsea players couldn't do anything but watch and hope. And hope is the last thing that dies. If the game was played again it would be 5 or 6-2 at half time...to Arsenal. Aubameyang should have scored, twice, and the same applies to Iwobi and Mkhitharyan. Somehow they jut kicked the ball over, wide or somewhere..
It looked like Chelsea players had got some kind of hairdryer treatment aka Ferguson at half time because the second half was much more stabile. Chelsea controlled the game totally and when Hazard entered the pitch with 30 minutes to go I just smiled. That guy, what joy to watch and even more against tired Arsenal defenders. At the end it was Alonso who got the 3-2 equalizier, assisted by Hazard, with 10 minutes left to play.
24 attempts, 11 shots on goal, 62% ball possession should be enough to win. A fair result many will say, but realistically Chelsea could also had lost the game. 6 points from two games is though a very good start to the season. Top of the league until tomorrow .
One thing is for sure. Last year, under Conte, this would have been a 0-0 game.
