Do you love your work
ENJOY THE PLACE WE'RE AT
While running a marathon, if we start looking at everyone who's running faster than us and try and match them or feel inadequate cause of that, then we're never going to run well. Not enjoy the run.
So it is with life. We are who we are. We are where. Materially, emotionally, spiritually, there will be people ahead and behind of us. The dumbest thing we can do is to look at those ahead and start feeling bad or unworthy.
Our journey is unique. We are one of a kind. Let's value that, acknowledge and accept that. And let's focus on living our life, revel in our experiences, make the most of what we are meant to learn. No journey is better or worse. No one is higher or lower. We are all just different.
Love and accept ourselves and our lives. We are special. Let's never forget or undervalue that.
Do you love your work?
Some might think it's a crazy question to ask on a Monday morning. In my corporate life I have seen broadly 3 categories of people:
- Those who really love what they do
- Those who hate what they do
- Those who don't care what they do (as long as they are paid)
And it's not necessary that one person forever remains in one category. People do shift from one to other. Honestly, I have been in all 3 categories at different points of time in my career!
In which category do you think people are most successful? Absolutely, in category 1, because they love what they do and their passion & enthusiasm will ensure they succeed . You have two choices that you can make today-
Build your career around your passion. And yes you can do it anytime. Of course you have to be courageous to step out of your comfort zone.
In your current job do more of what you love doing. Not necessarily you have to quit a job to live your passion. See what you can do in your current situation which allows you to do work that excites you. Be proactive!
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to great work is to love what you do"-
