The Vindhyachal Thermal Power Station is located in Singrauli district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. One of the coal-fired power stations of NTPC, it is the largest power station in India, with an installed capacity of 4760 MW.
The second largest power plant is also a thermal power plant located in Gujarat.
Adani Power's Mundra Thermal Power Station in Gujarat is the second biggest thermal power plant in India which having capacity of 4620 MW.

Tata Power's 4,000MW Mundra UMPP in Gujarat is the third largest thermal power plant.
