Potty Training Tips

Potty training your child can be a challenging task. Here are a few tips to help you potty train your child successfully:

1. Watch for signs that your child is ready - they might show interest in potty training, ask for a diaper change after they peed or pooped, or tell you when they are going to pee or poop.

2. Write down when your child normally pees and poops during the day for a week. This will help you know when to take your kid to potty.

3. Let your child practice to pee on the potty first (allow boys to sit down and pee in the beginning). Learning to poop is next stage of potty training.

4. No more diapers, except at night!

5. Get the school and daycare on board.

6. Use a timer or an alarm clock to set regular potty breaks.

7. Give rewards - the only way to get access to these rewards is to sit on the potty.

8. If your child has an accident, don’t yell at him or punish him. Clean up the accidents calmly and remind your kid that he is supposed to use the potty for peeing and pooping.

9. If your child is afraid of the potty, introduce the potty to him in small steps - let him touch the toilet, sit on the toilet with his pants on, stand next to the toilet with his pants down etc.

10. Be patient - understand that potty training takes time.
