DAY 1 BLOG CHALLENGE: EXPLAIN YOUR BLOG'S NAME

I've never been good at naming things. I bet if I could talk the moment I was born and my parents asked me what name I would like, I bet I would have chosen something as bland as Precious or Grace or Blessing.

My blog name is YOUNG-BOSS-KARIN it is long and not so fancy. I kind of hate it, but now that I think about it, at the point where I gave myself the name, I thought it was cool. And right now, I can only think of a name I currently think is cool but will definitely lose taste on my tongue in 12 months. So, even though I can't change this name anymore, I think I'll just stick with it and love it.

My real name is KARINA and it means 'Answered prayers'. It has a story.

I'm the last of 8 children and the second girl. My parents had 3 boys, 1 girl and 3 boys again. When my mother was pregnant with me, she was certain I was going to be another boy. When my dad first saw me, he thought I was a boy. But I guess he got a bit elated when he saw I was a girl and decided I was an answer to their prayers. Hence the name.

The full recognised name is AYIBAKARINATE, meaning God answers my prayers. But my parents hate long names, so they just stuck to the main gist of the name Answered prayers.

The additional 'Young-Boss' was as a result of the phase I was in when I got started here. I was at a point where being a boss was very important to me. It still is, but not enough to name me after it.

I'm glad I chose the name though, but I wish I had chosen something simple like just Karina, you know. Or maybe asked someone smarter for better advice. I just thought I wouldn't spend much time here you know. But here we are, 4 years later and I'm cruising and earning with this less than perfect name.

I have been forced to love it. And I love it.
