At first I wasn't sure if I had anything for this weeks #portraitcontest but remembered that just a year and a half ago my amazing husband @hangrydwarf surprised me with a very emotional set of pictures. The reason it was so emotional for me is that by this time we had already found out that my father was terminally ill, and despite the 6 weeks that the doctor gave him, he had been fighting for over a year. So we knew that he could go at anytime. And my father wasn't a person who loved being in front of the camera, so most of the pictures I had of him were many, many years before this. Definitely a score on my husbands part, and I cried like a baby when he finally showed them to me! Plus they also had all my boys in them as well, and many of the quirky things that my father loved, like his old signs and of course his old car. I couldn't pick a favorite so I'll just post a few and let you pick!
I loved my father so much, and looking at these pictures still makes me cry. In fact I'm writing this through tears as we speak. @jasonrussell always does such a great job capturing the beauty in life, and now I have these wonderful pictures to look back on and remember the amazing man that was my father.
Sorry for the low quality, as I had to use the photos from my Facebook... I just got a new computer for Christmas and all of my photos are on my old one! ;) So let's see those male portraits for this weeks portrait contest!
