For what it's worth I did actually like your meme and voted for it accordingly, not because of the promise of payment.
I entered this comp early and since I already gave most of my STEEM to fellow Steemians, I can't pay for people to vote for my entry, like some can. I at least like the fact you put "if you like it" but to be honest, this kind of tactic just gives 0 chance to those like me.
I may invite people to vote for my entries but you won't find me paying people or promising voting power to buy votes. I find this counter-productive in trying to curate good content. That should be our number 1 goal with steemit.com
I hope you do not take personal offense to this. Everyone is doing it. It is almost a case of "if you can't beat them... join them". I've just never been that way inclined, and I want a social media platform that aims to provide excellent content. That's what I am here to build.
I strongly recommend reconsidering the strategy of buying upvotes and resteems for anyone who is considering the same strategy.

no offense taken, what you say makes sense and I agree. "if you can't beat them... join them" is partly my reasoning for promoting here, I found the contest from someone abusively spamming (I won't mention name since I don't wish to cause them any harm), but their approach didn't sit right with me, it wasn't favoring the people helping them at all in fact it was a detriment because of the spam. I really hope they don't win... I think my promo is by far the lesser of the many evils that show up in vote contests, and personally I think if I were to ask for votes without offering anything in return to the minnows helping it would be rude, especially if I stand to gain a prize for the meme. Everyone contending for top places has promoted their meme and the original post by attrition in some way, it becomes a contest of who has a lot of friends alongside a good meme and something to bring attention, there's simply no other way to win a vote contest than to be responsible for a large portion of the traffic there or to be someone famous on steemit that everyone will vote for anyway. I don't think it's a perfect scenario, but I think I improved it by joining by contrast to all the other kinds of promotion people are attempting, and I actually put a lot of time into thinking of the best meme I could make for it, and anyway I'm glad you like it :)
I did like your entry. It was actually the first one I preferred to my own, lol. I have also upvoted your comment. I completely agree that you have shown the most ethical approach I have seen in trying to offer an incentive for a vote.
Followed because I enjoy your insight and the fact we can have a discussion without the need to insult one another.
If you are into the crypto-economy at all, I would certainly welcome feedback on my own articles from someone not afraid to really consider their response.
I'll pretty much upvote any comment that adds value to one of my articles. Whether it be additional information, a fresh insight, or even a conflicting view, I enjoy the discussion.

Well Said @butterfly-effect Well Said - @beachbuminvestor - I hear you 100% - I do believe though that the MEME - will win because it is the best regardless of any attrition - for example a sample of 10,000 non-Steemians vote on the entries - would be the same winner. Laws of Attraction and natural viral contention would still supersede a rigged contest
