Global populism and polarization
World politics underwent a profound change in the 2010s. Especially with the election of Trump in the global hegemonic power America in 2016, there is a political movement that can be called the spirit of the time (Zeitgeist) all over the world: Populism. From America to Russia, from England to India, from Brazil, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic and many other countries, either in power or populist parties on the rise. Just as fascism left its mark on the period between the two world wars, populism is a similar global hegemonic political movement for today's world.
