A Safe Place For Positivity

Imagine waking up to a beautiful morning,the bird are singing, the sun is warm, you feel great. Because you got up early today, you manage to squeeze in a good workout and eat a delicious and nutritional breakfast.
The kids are all packed up and you get them to school on time smiling and happy.

Truly a wonderful start to your day.

As you drive to work listening to your favorite Maroon five song on the radio, your phone rings it's an unfamiliar number.

"Hello!" You answer in a cheerful voice.
"Hello, this is Roger your landlord" the voice on the other end of the call says in serious tone.
"Yes, Roger, how can I help you?" You answer with positive curiosity.
"Your rent check just bounced, you have by tommorow to get me the rent otherwise you will have to move out."
"Oh, ookayy" you answer in a mumbling voice.
"Goodbye" says Roger and hangs up.

This feels like a blow to your solar plexus, leaving you breathless and paralyzed.
You stop the car on the side of the road and thoughts start running through your head.
"How did this happen?" , "Why do I deserve this?" " Who the hell does he think he is?"
The syream of thoughts only gets stronger and you don't see a solution, you only see the problem.

Of course, your wonderful day has changed into a nightmare.

A situation like this can happen to us on the best day of our lives, and throw is completley off.
Turning us from happiness to misery in a course of a minute.

We often can't see a solution and even when we find one and solve the problem the emotional turmoil has already taken its toll , hurting and traumatizing us. The stress builds up hit after hit damaging our physical and mental health.

Finding a way to relieve the stress and emotional pain is crucial. We have to stay in a positive mindset.

Of course, there are many ways to deal with this issue, from having a good conversation with a professional for a few hundred dollars to taking prescription pills to become a zombie.

I want to offer you a simple and effective way I use to deal with stressful events,
I call it - "The Safe Place".

We all have a favorite place in the world, a place where we feel calm, powerful and joyful.
For me it's the beach of my hometown, but it can be a beautiful meadow, maybe a cozy spot next to a fire place. It can be any place in the world as long as you feel relaxed and happy there.

Now just close your eyes and imagine yourself in your safe place. You can see the images, hear the sounds and you feel completely calm, relaxed and safe.

As you open your eyes notice the incredible feeling you have inside - joy and bliss. In this state you can solve any problem and tackle every imaginable obstacle with ease.

Next time you get that call and you start feelin stress and anxiety filling you, ripping you from the inside.
Follow this simple technique -

Just close your eyes

Take ten deep breaths

Imagine yourself in your safe place

Open your eyes and go solve the problem

This method has helped me litterally thousands of times and with each time it works better and better.

So don't worry and stay positive, now that you have a safe place.
