The pollution of the largest river of India, Ganges poses a threat to human life and agricultural growth in the country.
It is said that the river Ganga is now too toxic not to be holy anymore.
Severely polluted with human waste and industrial contaminants, the river provides water to about 40% of India's population across 11 states, serving an estimated population of 500 million people or more, more than any other river in the world.
Many organisations took initiatives to clean the river but ended up in vain.
