The European Parliament does not recognize the results of the elections in Belarus and declared Lukashenka persona non grata in the EU. Moreover, sanctions were imposed against the majority of Belarusian politicians. They explained that the elections that took place on August 9 in Belarus could not be called fair or free, which means that it is a direct violation of human rights. The EP calls for a new vote with admission to polling stations of independent observers.
