Trump plans to expel Russian diplomats

US President Donald Trump is preparing to expel many Russian diplomats in response to the poisoning, with a nerve agent, of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal, which took place on Sunday, March 4 in Salisbury.

the American president, apparently, would have accepted the recommendations of the councilors, following the meeting of the National Security Council.

expulsions should be announced next Monday. However, it has been emphasized that Trump's decision may not be final. The American president would be ready to act but he wants to be sure that the European allies take as many measures against Russia before issuing the edict against the diplomats.

The councilors developed their recommendations for an American response to the attack in the United Kingdom at the National Security Council meeting last Wednesday and then presented them to Trump.

Meanwhile, the European Union has recalled its ambassador to Moscow and intends to express a hard line towards Russia, while already five European countries, France, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, are ready to expel Russian diplomats.

I find it very suspect that the major Western governments have jumped on the Russophobia bandwagon without even proving their case. This is a repeat of the weapons-of-mass-destruction narrative in Iraq.
