The first democratic elected president of South Africa president Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918, Mvezo, South Africa.Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
For his celebration on his birthday, there was a sugestion to have a public holiday by the government of South Africa. He rejected the idea and decided that all business must continue as normal, but every citizen of the country can donate 67 minutes of their time and do something to the community.
