Politics in a Nutshell, by Scott Adams

in #politics8 years ago (edited)

This is one of my favorite comics, even though it's just one picture.

This is basically all politics that have ever existed anywhere in the world. People like to paint a picture of serving the public and maintaining and creating a level of welfare, but when it comes down to it, politics is basically transferring wealth from the people you don't like to the people you do like.

There's nothing admirable or noble about that.

Govern-cement likes to paint a picture... its called indoctrination, and it is mandatory for every child to enroll in 12 years of it.

Without the indoctrination, people would be saying why aren't you maintaining the roads like you said you would? Where is the real welfare that you said you would? Why do you always do things in the worst possible way at the highest possible price?

If we didn't have the indoctrination of govern-cement schools and television, we would have just thrown out the whole bloody thing.

There is no need for politicians to clarify where they will get the money, all they need to say is "free money for everyone!" voters are dump, really dump!

That 'bout sums it up. I really enjoy listening to Scott Adams when he's on with Stefan Molyneux. Did you hear about how he taught himself to talk again after losing the ability to speak?

Yeah, I did. A friend of mine got me into reading Scott Adams during the election, and I've really been enjoying myself.

He made spot on predictions about Trump - even at the beginning, when few were making such predictions.
